Boliden Secures Majority Control of Chilean Copper‑Zinc Asset Nexa Resources
Swedish metals group Boliden announced it will acquire a 51% stake in Chilean miner Nexa Resources, adding the company’s Cerro Verde copper‑zinc project to its portfolio. The transaction, valued at roughly 2.5 billion Swedish kronor (about $250 million), will give Boliden majority ownership and direct access to the project’s substantial copper and zinc reserves. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the first half of 2025, positioning Boliden to strengthen its presence in the global copper market.
